SACAU: Regional Youth Farmers' Forum

The Southern African Confederation of Agricultural Unions (SACAU) in collaboration with AgriSA and Agri Limpopo organized a regional young farmers’ forum and tour that took place from 24th to 27th August 2015 in Tzaneen (South Africa).

The forum was organized within the SACAU initiatives that are aimed at exposing young farmers to various forms of advanced and profitable farming enterprise. Young farmers were also provided with an opportunity to share and learn from each other’s experiences.

The tour, whose focus was on fruit and vegetable production, was organized in Limpopo - one of the regions in South Africa with thriving fruit industry. The farmers were hosted by Agri Limpopo under the invitation of the SACAU president Dr. Theo de Jager.

Two young farmers from the majority of SACAU members participated in the event. One day out of three days was dedicated to a forum where participants reflected on their tour experiences and sharing some of the activities they are undertaking in their respective countries.
