Farmers and civil society organizations in Senegal adopt a joint declaration on land

Farmers and civil society organizations met on Friday 14 October 2016 in Dakar to adopt a joint declaration on land.

This follows a long process of consultation conducted by Senegalese civil society organizations grouped into the Cadre de Réflexion et d’Action sur le Foncier (a framework for dialogue and action on land), coordinated by theConseil National de Concertation et de Coopération des Ruraux (CNCR)member of the Réseau des organisations paysannes et de producteurs de l' Afrique de l' Ouest (ROPPA). 

The document, which presents the observations and recommendations by civil society organizations, was further presented to the National Commission for Land Reform (Commission Nationale de Réforme Foncière - CNRF) responsible for the development of a land policy for the country (document de politique foncière - DPF).
