SACAU participates in the high level regional food security dialogue organized by The Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network (FANRPAN)

The Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network (FANRPAN) organized a high level regional food security dialogue that was held in Windhoek, Namibia from 30th August to 3rd of September 2010. The dialogue was attended by more than 200 delegates from about 25 countries from within and outside Africa. These dialogues are conducted annually and the 2010 theme was “Livestock and Fisheries Policies for Food Security and Trade in Changing Environment”. 

The dialogue was aimed at (i) providing knowledge of the challenges, opportunities and successes in African Agriculture Development; (ii) creating awareness to the delegates on the roles and contribution of various stakeholders in achieving food security in the continent; (iii) enabling participants appreciate the important contribution of agriculture research for development in Africa. In addition the meeting was also aimed at endorsing the program of FANRPAN by the participants. SACAU attended the meeting representing the interest of farmers in the region.
